Wiley Koepp: "It wasn't until my first Davíd Garza show in '91 that I awoke from my glam rock slumber. Since then I've tried to steal as much as possible from Davíd's drummer, Michael Hale (Raggamassive, Concerto Grosso, & others). Mike has a gift of mixing appropriate amounts of style, technique, and musicality. Brannen Temple and J. J. Johnson complete what I think is the Austin percussive trifecta. I've seen these guys play in dozens of line-ups. I use each performance as a personal drum clinic, creatively "borrowing" as many rhythms as I can remember. Ephraim Owens is a phenomenal trumpet player. Regardless of whether he's playing with a quintet, solo, or accompanying Yashi Vaughn's spoken word, Ephraim is a must-see." -- Wiley Koepp (Coyote Entertainment)

Ephraim Owens
.
Ephraim is widely touted as the best Austin has to offer. 'You see him walking through town, his black case carrying his bent trumpet tucked under his arm, walking from club to club to club, looking for something hot."

Ephraim plays for a stack of different artists, as well as making his own great records. You can hear his beautiful tones on Laura Scarborough's Chapter One: Desire album.

Michael Hale

Michael Hale
.
Michael is one of Austin's premiere drummers. You should all be familiar with Michael, as he has sat in for JJ on a few occasions during the Clubcast Live broadcasts. Michael is also currently playing with Troy Dillanger and Del Dragons, along with Stewart, but that's only to name one band . He also plays for are, Davíd Garza (DahVEED), and Concerto Grosso. So ... you know Mike is a great drummer right?! -- BUT did you know he can sing too? Well he can! He is the frontman for RaggaMassive. Listen to some of their songs HERE. A couple of other artists Michael has worked with are: M.C. Overlord, W. C. Clark, Quizumba, Jesse Taylor and Kirk Whalum.

There are a couple of photos of Mike jamming at  Troy Dillanger's birthday bash, along with Troy (naturally), Spencer, Stewart and some other musicians.

Biran Standefer

Brian Standefer
.
Brian is one of the most beautiful cellist. He has played for tons of people, including Ian Moore, Blu Sanders, and Jeff Klein (to name only a few that I am passionate about) of course there are tons more.
Brian is currently in a band called Screen Door Music, with Bukka Allen (Ian Moore), and Robbie Gjersoe (Robbie Fulks, Barbara K). They have a new album out now!

Seth Orell Seth Orell
.
Seth has been playing drums for Ginger Mackenzie for a while now. I know no much about de man, but here's what I found. He was in a band called Screwtape in 1997, and also I think he is currently in the band Active Radio. (Glenn also played for this band at one time). There are some nice photos of Seth in the photo gallery, so check it out. Well that's it. I just know he is a great drummer, and I love when he sits in as guest drummer for 54 Seconds.
